I am James. Welcome to Island Home Care. I founded Island Home Care to improve the conditions for the dedicated care professionals working in Jersey. I truly believe that the better we care for you the better you are able to support the clients who deserve the very best from us. We are fortunate to have a fantastic team of people who are key to our success. Healthcare Support Worker Required

Island Home Care is looking for caring, compassionate, and motivated people that have experience in care and support work to join our team.  We are a small independently run home care agency that provide our clients with quality, outstanding and personalised care.

We established our agency in May 2022 and have a variety of care packages that will include seeing multiple clients on compact runs as well as positions where you will remain with the same client each day. These positions require caring for and supporting adults within their own homes and the community. Training is provided and opportunities to take further qualifications are available.

L3 RQF Medications unit and RQF L2/3 in Adult Social Care or equivalent is preferred but not essential depending on your experience and professional background. We require you to have a driving license and your own car. 42hour per week full time permanent roles available on a rolling shift pattern with alternate weekends off. Examples of our set shift pattern are available on request.

ETHICAL STATEMENT

It is common practice in the community care sector to only pay Healthcare Staff for contact time. This means that workers are not paid for periods of time that they are on the road and travelling between clients. Under these conditions people often pick up excessive amounts of hours over long periods of time without fair pay and conditions for their hard work, dedication, and professionalism. Island Home Care believe that this is wrong.

Offering better conditions in the privatised healthcare sector is what we are founded on. As far as we are aware Island Home Care pay the highest rates in Jersey and our staff are paid for every hour they are on shift – even on the road. Our staff do not have to work excessive hours to make ends meet. Teams get rotas well in advance (currently 6 months ahead), alternate weekends off and rarely do overtime. They are treated well, and our full-time team members have a generous benefits package including pensions, sick pay and bonuses. It is our mission to continually improve working conditions for our people and standards of care for our clients.
