We have a robust training and development program that all team members at Island Home Care follow to ensure they are performing at their best and delivering the high-quality service we promise our clients. We take pride in the hard work put into our in-house training and the partnerships we've developed with external training providers.

 

Whether it’s mental health training from our director, James, who has a background in counselling and psychology, or SPELL training with the National Autistic Society, we are consistently striving for excellence.

 

We believe in the principles of continuous improvement, achieved through ongoing professional development and targeted training when and where it is needed. Our innovative approach involves collaboration with experienced professionals like Dr. Assumpta Finn, who helps our teams implement the SPELL framework by joining our team meetings. Additionally, trauma-informed practice is consistently rolled out across our organization by Dr. Rachel Rudd from Grow Psychology, who works with several of our teams on reflective and trauma-informed practice techniques on a monthly basis.
